Wouxun KG-935G GMRS Two Way Radio

By far ones the greasiest sounding radios on the market very good quality i love the overall feel very easy to program to a repeater love the led display very visible during the day stock antenna rocks but a Nagoya 771 g is just choice with this radio battery life is just great last very long haven’t charged the radio for a whole week just a great radio would recommend to anyone great websites as well and customer service.

I’m new to GMRS radio’s. With that being said, I wanted one that was ready to go out f the box, with very little programming. After much research and YouTubes viewing. I decided on this one.
It’s been a few weeks now and I’m happy. I can talk to the grand kids on the FRS walkie talkie channels. Have programmed a local repeater in OKC, and can talk to family members 8 miles away, and 28 miles away. Im satisfied. So much so there may be another one purchased soon. BuyTwoWayRadios shipped fast and Im happy with the responses on questions there.

I purchased the KG 935 starting have problems with charging base got in contact with support and told them the issues and i was told the charging dock only had a 6 month warranty and i have to purchase a new one this total bullshit and why not cover the part it is essential to maintain charge of the radio. Its not the point on the price its lack of support to get more money out of you. I spent alot of money with them i will never purchase another item from the again go to better safe radio they will honor warranty issues

I've been using baofengs to listen on ham and GMRS channels for a while, decided to spend extra to get a radio that most people seem to like. All I can say is, you definitely get what you pay for. This thing picks up transmissions much better, and filters out those phantom transmissions 100% better than any baofeng I've used. it's easy to use and built very solid.

I'm happy with all that this radio can do with one exception. For sone reason, my noaa channels cone in very badly. I have a cheap boafeng that brings them on loud and clear. Also a ccrane skywave that brings them in loud and clear. All from the same location. I'm puzzled. I just ordered a couple of Nagoya GMRS antennas to see if that improves the signal. I really don't want to have to bring out a separate radio just to hear noaa.

This radio far exceeded my expectations.
Intuitive programing, long battery life, logical dual VFO, quality construction.
I used the factory programing program as well and it was easy.
What not to like?

I did some research and decided on the KG-935G for many reasons. I haven't gotten to use it much yet for actual communications; however, I'm pleased with my decision. I've monitored other transmissions and the receive quality is very good. I like the features and the dust and water resistance aspects. The radio feels good in the hand, solid, well built, it doesn't feel like a cheap piece of junk. I ordered another one and should be doing some two way communicating soon. Just set up & played around with the radio, I have not used it yet but can not wait to go off roading to see how it works. I like that you can change the theme, if needed, & that the screen is big enough to see while in my holder. I purchased the smaller antenna so it won't hit my roofline. This is a bad ass little radio!

The 935G was delivered promptly, and immediately gave an impression of quality.
Setting up the handset is very straightforward with a surprisingly useful User Manual.
Of all my GMRS handsets this stands out as a clear winner for both audio clarity and ease of use.
Extra reach can be gained using an alternative antenna such as the Nagoya 771G or the mobile UT-72G.

These last two radios make 4 that I have now bought for use by my Family. Gave one to a son-in-law and the other one is for my other daughter and son-in-law.

The first two were for me and my wife. Our local repeater actually reaches from the Washington/Oregon border to the Canadian border. We talk to people all over the eastern part of our state.

Purchasing from Buy Two Way Radio was a good experience and the product came as promised. The Wouxun KG-935G GMRS radio is well-designed and well-built. I love the Color display, it is easy to see Channe or frequencies. I really appreciate the Dual-Band function and signals come through clear, even at long distances. Having access to repeaters is even a greater benefit. This radio outputs 5.5 watts as advertised. I will most likely purchase another one for outdoor activities.
Technical support was a good experience. I was able to use the PCO-001 programming cable after tech support downloaded the correct driver for my Windows 11 system. The programming software works perfectly. I did not need CHIRP.

Simply the best GMRS handheld available!

I knew nothing about GMRS radios until I needed a set for a Jeep trip. Found a few good reviews on this one, price seemed reasonable so purchased as a 3rd unit to a less expensive pair of Midland's. It's significantly higher-quality feeling in every way. New to GMRS I'm relying heavily on the well-written manual. Learning a lot and feel like I've invested in a quality unit that'll be in my kit for many years to come.

The KG935G is everything I'll ever need in a GMRS radio. It transmits quietly and reception is clear. The radio is built like a tank and is rated to take the weather that i more or less will face out on the trail, with NOAA programed in with an alert option. The Wouxun KG-935G is my first GMRS radio but also my 2nd HT radio behind the Wouxun KG-UV9P. The KG-935G is a solid performer with excellent transmit and receive. I live in a residential neighborhood with very few obstructions, just neighbors roofs and a few trees. I'm able to transmit about 15 miles with clear clean audio (no repeater) and about 25 miles legibly with moderate distortion. There are 2 repeaters nearby that I programed into the radio, when I hit'em….the sky's the limit. The battery life of the KG-935G is great, almost a week without charging when simply monitoring and about 3 days use with intermitted transmitting. The screen is awesome, easy on the eyes at night…I love it. The KG-935G is a must buy!

Primarily for a road trip, I was looking for business radios based on previous quality FRS radios that could only muster short range reception that wasn't all that clear.
These 5W Wouxun KG-935G GMRS radios did the trick beautifully. Speech between vehicles was very clear and we never drifted out of range.
Local range testing in pretty good conditions registered 4.3 and 4.6 miles with clear reception nearly the whole way.
Compared with other radios that I found, these are higher powered for the price and appear to be very well built. Very well satisfied.

Oh boy all my friends are jealous now so I informed them I am going to get the KG 1000 to set up a base . I really love this HT and the distances I can reach out to are incredible. I highly recommend this radio to anyone who is interested in GMRS world.

Having some issues with radio retaining CTSS tones for saved channels, will see if I can work this out but may be sending in for replacement. Also, for the premium price disappointed it didn't come with programming cable.

What a great radio. I have more HT's (both amateur radio and GMRS) than I care to admit but this radio is the one that I've been really wanting to own and it hasn't disappointed at all. I'm sure there are features that I will eventually wish it had, but for now it's the radio I'm glad to have with me every day. Solidly built, weather radio built in and battery life that is simply amazing especially when just monitoring makes this a great all around GMRS radio. I don't notice a difference between receiving signals from this direct conversion radio and that of a SuperHet (I own the 805g as well), so don't let that hold you back. Combine this with the great customer service, I highly recommend this radio!

I’m somewhat new to GMRS and hand held radios, however after comparing two other models all less expensive my Wouxun KG-935g is hands down better in quality, reception and output. This radio is well worth the extra costs, I would highly recommend it.

I originally purchased 2 kg805g radios which are fantastic, I recently purchased 2 kg935g radios and love them! Im new to the gmrs world, the Wouxun radios are built like tanks with fantastic quality! BuyTwoWayRadios service, shipping times, customer support is second to none!

I purchased two of these radios plus two of the extended antennas based upon my prior experience with my Ham HTs. The radios arrived within two days of ordering, were securely packaged, and after a fairly short battery charge, simply worked when turned on. The antennas were included in the overall package so they also arrived in good condition. I was able to easily download the programming software and set up frequencies for scanning. Being familiar with CHIRP software made the process of using the Wouxon software very intuitive and easy to work. The software wrote to the radios smoothly. Since the initial purchase of the radios, I've added a GMSR tuned antenna to my truck and, with a pigtail, now have a stronger setup for travel. My Boafeng microphone worked just fine with the KG-945G. I have an additional microphone and car charger ordered for my wife. The customer service has been outstanding or, in all honesty, I wouldn't keep ordering from them!

This is my first serious radio since buying a pair of blister pack units when I was a kid. The feature set on this is miles above those cheap built units, as you'd expect for the difference in price. Those I always used while out camping or on road trips, great uses for radios when cell service is limited or non-existent. But the main reason I bought the KG935 was for emergency communications during extended power outages or other SHTF situations. I can easily reach a friend nearly four miles away, and we have plans to build a repeater in the future so we can get better coverage on the road further afield from our homes. Love that this works for that purpose, and I have also had a lot of fun just scanning channels and seeing what traffic I can pick up. Service from BuyTwoWayRadios was excellent, and I know I'll be back for more when we look into setting up our repeater!

This radio so far seems to be all that it advertises. The range is good, it feels good in your hand and although waterproof, sounds great. Its loud enough to use in a vehicle with the windows down and easy to use. the knobs seem a bit tight but I'm guessing this is because of it being waterproof.

This is my third gmrs HT and first Wouxun product. Feels very quality, I really like everything about it. One thing to note is you can't have weather alerts and scan at the same time. I found that out and was almost about to return it until I discovered you have to have weather alerts off to be able to scan frequencies otherwise it will stop every few seconds to monitor NOAA. NBD. I do wish the speaker was a little louder, some transmissions come in rather quiet, however that also could be the transmitting radio that I'm listening to. I've never owned a superhetrodyne radio so I'm not sure how this compares to one. I guess if I knew it was significantly better I wish this was superhet but as for now I still notice is better than my other SOC radios.

As a Ham operator I have spent lots of money on HT units for Amateur service. This radio is the same quality as the more expensive units. I will be looking at this brand for future radio purchases.

I have many Wouxon radios because I like the dual band function in them. After picking this KG-935G, this has become my favorite of all my Wouxon’s. For me the color screen with a dark background and lighter info is much easier to read in bright lighting situations, much better that the KG-UV series ones. Plus this one seems more ruggedized than other. Only negative to me is the charging bases on this series is different than the UV series.

This was my first time buying from Buy Two Way Radios, and it was a smooth experience. I ordered on a Thursday evening, and it arrived on Monday with standard free shipping. This radio does NOT come with a programming cable, and you will need one if you want to program things like repeaters and customize it to your liking. I had an old BaoFeng cable that worked fine. The downloadable software was self explanatory - similar to the Anytone 878 software. The 935g is a relatively robust radio. Reception and transmission are solid. Features are plentiful. No real complaints. I called for customer service about other products and talked to someone named "Tanner" I think. I'm relatively new to GMRS and amateur radio but he didn't make me feel like an idiot for asking noob questions. This is my new go-to place.

FYI - if you are relatively new to radio or just want to learn more, listen to the Buytwowayradio podcasts. I recommend going all the way back to the beginning in 2012 and start listening. Excellent radio from a purely functional standpoint, with one exception: The screen is useless in bright sunlight. Hard to see is an understatement. Otherwise, great choice from all aspects.
DO NOT PURCHASE THE USB PROGRAMMING CABLE, unless you are prepared to purchase 3rd party software to go with it. The disc that comes with the cable, even though it is implied, DOES NOT contain programming software, and said software NOT available on the Wouxun website.

This is my second KG-935G radio it works great on GMRS repeaters its best Ht radio you can buy on the market.

After purchasing one radio I realized how good these were. While they do work with other radios, these are worth every penny in pairs. With the GMRS permit I like the distance and clarity these have over my old cheap ones.

Based on my experience for the last 9 months I think they perform great. I talk on them through my local repeater which is 16 miles from my home , and I can reach another repeater in Baton Rouge,La which is 12 miles. I did install Nagoya's NA771G antenna on them which helps a lot vs the stock antenna. I like the duel channel displays for monitoring, color display, long battery life, built in FM radio, and a slew of other features. I haven't experienced all the features it has because I am slow at trying it all. I shared some holster information to the CEO of buy to way radios because I found a perfect holster that works well for this radio, hopefully they can sell these on their website. Also Retevis sells a good external microphone for 12.91 that works great with the radio. I am fully satisfied with the KG-935G from "buytwowayradios.com and their Great support.

This is an awesome HT. The screen was a big seller and I love it. The reception is really good even on the stock rubber duck. Easy to program and fun to use. Highly recommend.

I bought this radio right before a family vacation in the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. The radio got excellent coverage in simplex mode. The clarity was superb. I was able to program three repeaters in quite easily on naming the channels. The Knoxville 600 repeater was approximately 60 mi away and I was able to easily talk through the repeater at any given time. I even participated in the gmrs net. This radio has become by far my favorite gmrs handheld.

Bought 2 KG-935G Radios. Great build. Needed help with Wouxum software programming. Called tech support and John assisted me with Windows drivers update, (Imagine that). All good. Excellent Radio.

First of all if you aren't a computer geek your Screwed couldn't get mine to program so Sold them and broke even. They really aren't that simple to operate like they say.

It has all the power stuff, but for my first GMRS radio it was easy to setup and use, including the manual. It broadcasts powerfully in my town, compared to other radios.

I have some serious distance on top of some hills exceeding the 36 mile mark. In one case I was able to speak to a man on another hilltop 70 miles away, hilltop to hilltop. On a UHF frequency, that is truly amazing. This radio has some great features. Many features I have not even accessed yet.

I like the radio although honestly I am trying to buy less Chinese imported items. This radio is well built and full of features. I like buying from this source. The shipping was lightning fast. I had my radio in two days from my order! (Just so you know I only live in the next state (NC) but that is still very fast and I appreciate it.) In 2022 companies need to be responsive to customers to compete.

As I am new to GMRS I wanted a good radio from the get go, and that’s what I got. I had called customer service to ask about the back log and got way more that I asked for. The radio is great and the gentleman that answered the phone was great and very knowledgeable . I plan a few more of these and at least one KG 1000G for the vehicles.

As most have said, 5 stars. The software works but officially "WONKY". Listening to FM channels is difficult (see pg 69). Using a White background works best in daylight. I, too, bought the 771G antenna, spare battery, 12v eliminator, and 12v adapter for the charger.

Did several radio checks with my son in the house with a KG-905G and me in town inside my car as far as 6.65 miles away, line of sight, verified on Google Maps. A little scratchy but easily readable. Looking forward to hunting season this year to compare performance after adding in terrain. Radios feel bulky and good quality. Hoping for years of use with the high water resistance rating. Batteries seem to hold a good charge with regular use. I like that I can also monitor FM radio, weather, and police and fire while traveling to hunting area. I'm actually going to leave my scanner home this Fall.

As a ham radio operator, I am very picky when it comes to radios. This one is top notch. TX and RX audio quality is amazing, and antenna is amazing. Most HTs come with a junk antenna but this one is very well designed.

Just received my KG-935G radio last week. The "user manual" is a good read for general reading. As soon as I can figure out how to program the radio I'll be able to test. Did have awesome reviews.

Currently own 3 GMRS hand held radios. This Wouxun KG-935G GMRS Two Way Radio is my favorite. Excellent quality and sharp presentation. Love this radio.

People I talk to say my audio quality is very good.

I have only one major complaint. I ordered a pair of these radios and while the shipping box that contained both radios was completely intact, one of the individual radio boxes was severely damaged. Fortunately the radio itself was undamaged. Still, pretty bad handling on the part of BTWR.

The other thing I noticed, is that these radios do not put out 5W. On Low power it's about 700mW, medium is about 2W and high was just a bit over 3.5W. Yes, the battery was fully charged and it was tested with three different meters.

All that said, I still have an overall positive opinion of the KG-935G. It is a very decent radio for the price and probably the best hand held GMRS radio on the market.

This is my second Wouxun radio. Solid build quality, good performance so far as I said. My disappointment stems from two factors. First, I can only find one repeater over 100 miles away. Second it is not yet programmable with Chirp. I can only talk to one person who is a neighbor with poor cell reception. He says the receive quality is noisy, best on low power. I'll continue to play with this, but seriously, in Montana a Ham license will allow for better repeater availability and overall better user experience.

I bought a pair of these to use around my town with my family. No repeater connections for GMRS in my area yet and I am getting clear reception 2.5 miles away on the next island over so they are serving their purpose. I did switch out to a tuned mini rubber duck for the antenna so they would fit in my center console. Stock antenna was just as good as the rubber duck in my preliminary testing.

Radio review done, time for the store review. Buy Two Way Radios has been phenomenal. Every order I have made has arrived 2 days early. This has been my personal experience but 3 orders in and every one of them was early, so take that how you will.

Love the screen with the dual channel capability. Able to program side buttons to just about anything you want. One touch to get weather, one touch for radio, or light. So many options for such a small GRMS radio. It is the best of all my portable radios. Highly recommend!!

Solid Radio. By the way very user-friendly. My second radio from this manufacture. Very satisfied with performance so far.

OK, take the Wouxun KG-935G GMRS and the top of the line (expensive) Yaesu FT5DR Amateur handhelds. Put a 2.15 Db gain 15in antenna on both and let's see how they do in receive. I programmed 10 local Amateur repeaters and 1 GMRS repeater (the only one around), set them up to scan and let's see how they do indoors next to a computer. The result was while both had "bacon frying" noise the Wouxun had less noise and better receive. Wouxun also won with the quality of the audio having a lower frequency response to easily identify the voice of an individual when I hear them again versus the Yaesu without this made everyone sound the same.

Programming the Wouxun is much easier in many ways with more features than the Yaesu just to drop in a frequency and scan it. Not the PL tones to transmit. Holding them the Wouxun feels good in the hand while the Yaesu is a square brick worse with the attached belt clip. No keypad on the Yaesu but touch the frequency and you will get one. Battery life the Wouxun can scan for 5 days scanning while the Yaesu good for a day or two. The Yaesu has a lot more going on OK. Yes, the Yaesu is a high tech digital radio that has A LOT more abilities than Wouxun as in connecting to computers. Apples versus oranges. The point is that Wouxun going with FM analog only for now is just as good as anything out there and costs a lot less. I may have to purchase their Amataur radio version KG-UV8H putting out 8 watts with a 3200 mAH battery that interchanges with my accessories I purchased for the KG-935G. You Decide.

New to GMRS on the more professional end of the
Technology. I have used the tiny, limited hand held devices from Midland and Motorola for years while working for telecom company’s line crews. Noisy battery eating devices good for maybe a couple hundred feet…the 935 is an amazing departure and will make the learning experience a pleasure.

I was content with my Baofeng's UV-9G and UV-5G but once I got my hands on this baby I forgot all about the Baofeng's.. I did get the Nagoya 701G for it. This radio is easy to use, programming cable and pc software no issues and no issues with drivers compared to other brands that do have driver issues. This is now my fav radio, well worth the money. Oh one last thing.. I didn't use the belt clip it came with, I'm using the swivel belt clip from my Baufeng UV-9G. No modification needed it screws right on the Wouxun belt clip screw. I would have uploaded I picture but that isn't an option in this review. I wouldn't have known about this radio if it wasn't for Mr. "NotaRubicon"

Good radio but not user friendly. The tone and articulation of the voice coming out of the speaker is not very good. My Baofeng UV-5G is better. With the Baofeng I can listen to it at low volumes and hear the voice clearly. With the Wouxun I can not. When I turn up the Wouxun to hear it clearly, it sounds too loud half the time especially when a person with a deep voice comes on. I wish it had a tone control.
The volume knob needs two hands to adjust the volume, one to turn the volume knob and the other to hold the radio to keep it from turning. The volume knob is too tight. My Baofeng I can easily turn the volume knob with one hand.

Keeping things simple. My 1st radio check was to a repeater 8 air miles out and the response was I sounded like I was on a base station. Cant get much better than that. Wattage test was on par with the specs, which is good. Everything has a con and this one was the antenna. Checked the SWR on a comet antenna analyzer and it showed out of tune. I had a couple of Nagoya's NA-771G/NA-701G antenna so I swapped out the stock and that made a big difference on the GMRS receive but hurt the wide band receive which didn't matter to me. If your on the fence just remember you get what you pay for. This radio meets the cost. 73's. Thanks By Two way Radio. You will be hearing from me again. :)

VERY happy with the radio. Amazing range - I am able to consistently hit a repeater 16 miles away over varied terrain, and have even had regular success with a repeater 49 miles away - all on this handheld with the stock antenna, even from inside my house.

I received the 935 and was impressed with the physical quality. After upgrading the antenna, I made a side by side comparison to my new Baofeng UV-9G,(both radios had the same antenna) I tried the stock antenna and the Nagoya 771g (I have 2). I was very disappointed with the reception and sound quality.(the comparisons were made in the exact same position, same room, same time of day, monitoring the same repeater) Especially compared to a radio that was 1/3 of the cost. I called and received a RMA# to return the radio because I felt it was defective. After returning it, I called again and was told it was inspected and returned with no issues. I explained my comparison issues and was assured that this was a higher quality radio than the Baofeng and told I must be mistaken....so, I guess I will give it another evaluation when it comes back... after all, I clearly do not know what I'm talking about...We will see. (the customer is never right) ????

I like the radio, however first one I have had, and yes it may not have the best receiver in it, but for now it's fine. Will be purchasing other radios in the near future so time will tell, but for now I love the radio.

Out of all the handhelds I own, this is the best one. I receive clearer and further than all my other radios. It was easily programmed with the computer or from the keypad.

I now have the Kg905g and the kg935g and love them both!!

I live in a rural setting nestled in a canyon full of redwood trees. Propagation is tricky at times, but I have a reachable repeater. With my other HT's I have to go out to the curb to get connected but the KG935G lets me hit the repeater from my couch. (I did add a counterpoise cut for the exact frequency of the repeater.) The other big plus is that one of the pre-programmed channels uses the same frequency as the repeater and I did not have to program anything in order to connect. No messing about. That makes this HT the one in my go bag. In the event of wildfire all I have to do is turn it on and select the channel. In a high stress situation I want the KG935G in my hand.

I am impressed by the build quality. Most gmrs radios are of thin cheap feeling plastic, this feels more of professional quality. Plenty of options and great sensitivity and clarity.

Glad I took the advice of notarubicon and ordered this radio. It’s solid, great features, and easy to use. I think I’m going to order the HAM version of it too. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I have three KG-805G"s and a KG-905G. Just got this KG-935G. As of now, the other radios sound and receive MUCH BETTER than the KG-935G. Maybe I got a lemon, but I hear a LOT of constant static on the 935G when other people are talking, and with repeater feedback. All my other HT's work fine, just not the KG-935G. It is easy to set up and program however, and "looks" good with the new display, etc. But I prefer a radio that actually works above what it looks like. This KG-935 is nothing but noise and minimal performance. I even switched out the antenna to a Nagoya NA-77IG, and it made no difference. I will stick with the other HT's for now. Not sure what to do with this 935G, might make into a paper weight...

This has quickly become my favorite radio from the best store. Definitely order it if it is not in stock. You will get priority when they are in stock and they come in quickly. I use this on both simplex and repeater channels and I am very impressed with transmit and receive even though this is not a SuperHet receiver. The stock antenna does not need to be replaced as I have tried the Nagoya 15” and saw no difference. Customer service here is great and I buy everything I can from BUYTWOWAYRADIO. I now have two!,

the KG935-G is an excellent radio. Solid well built construction, easy to program (recommend programming via the computer software much easier), changing options via the onboard menu is easy, with many options not found on other GMRS handheld radio. Highly recommend if you are looking for a 5 watt handheld.

Fast Shipping! I got mine within a week of purchasing, despite it being "out of stock" at the time. I guess I got lucky on coincidental timing!

The radio is solid and full of features. I like how it has the little icon to tell you whether the "A" or "B" last received traffic. I also like the programmable sidekeys (PTT on secondary TDR area). It is possible to program any GMRS channel (simplex or repeater) on any of the 999 channel slots. I have scan groups setup for various areas I visit with GMRS repeaters in them. The weather alert feature seems good, but luckily haven't had an opportunity to see that in action.

I'm still reading the manual and trying to understand some of the more advanced features like alert tones, ANI, side-tones, call-groups, caller-id etc.

I'll end with two dislikes:
1) I was disappointed that you cannot set one of the TDR areas to scan, and then switch to the other area and surf around channels, or also scan. Scanning only happens on the area which is "in focus". Not a deal-breaker.
2) the Wouxun factory software is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! For setting the options like priority scan, sidekeys, and such it is fine. But for managing channel memories, forget it unless you have less than a dozen things to add, or unlimited time & patience. But the device has room for 999 channels. I have hundreds frequencies in CHIRP files for fire, police, HAM, RR, etc in different areas I visit, but no good way to get it into this radio. It is extremely tedious to type each of them in, line by line. The KG-935G would get 5 starts if it was supported by CHIRP. I won't be buying a KG-XS20G or KG-1000G until CHIRP supports them.

All that said: Great radio!

I have been using GMRS for about 20 years. I was so happy when the FCC increased the wattage output, but I remained skeptical that the radio industry would make the change. The KG-935G is definitely a step above the Baofengs. It is fairly easy to program from the keypad and it is loaded with features. I can hardly wait to see the next radios to be designed. Hopefully American companies will take the bait and produce even better products. For now, this radio is the best I can find. When will the superheterodyne version come out?

Yes, Finally a radio that doesn't work and feel like a toy. There are a few things that could be better, but definitely the best out there for GMRS.
1.) Tone Scan difficult to use or doesn't seem to work.
2.) changing channels with the knob is slow. Would be nice if you could zip across the channels.
3.) Manually entering channel names is painful. Something about the blinking cursor makes it difficult to scroll for the character yo want to enter.

This is the radio enthusiasts GMRS radio. Feature packed and solid. The manual is actually readable but the programming software leaves a quite a bit to be desired. Like the ability to copy and paste with keyboard shortcuts instead of mouse right clicks. Input sanitation to remove spaces and tabs that often get copied from excel sheets and html layout. The fact that it will crash on you if you overuse the mouse scroll wheel. The software would also benefit from context based help. Taking the nice well written descriptions from the manual and having it readily available for each option in the software via a mouse over or such.

Mind you these are programming software issues and not the radio itself. Love the radio...at least i didnt have to pay for the software.

REPLACED FOUR KG-805G'S WITH KG-905'S THEN EVERY ONE WITH KG-935G'S. BEAT THEM ALL ON PERFORMANCE AND SOFTWARE.

This is the best (so far) radio I have used to date.

Was pleasantly surprised. Very solid feeling radio. sounds much better on both transmit and receive than any other of my GMRS radios.

Can’t believe how feature packed this radio is, and yet so simple, easy to learn to use. Highly recommend from a beginner to advanced user.

The radio has been really good. Everything is better than uv-5x(that I also like). Definitely a more quality feel. Transmit is definitely better than uv-5x.

Only down side is programming with the computer has been unsuccessful as of October 2021 may be my own fault

I HAVE THREE AND ALL ARE PERFECT, EASY TO USE AND SO IS THE PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE.

Maybe I got a bad one but the speaker in mine is horrible. I own the 805 and the 905 too and the sound is like night and day. I bought a nice speaker mic for it and that is making the unit useable. The features on the radio is great. Like I said maybe I just got a bad one.

I spent so much money on inferior handheld GMRS devices. Midland, then Rugged Radios. What a waste of money and time. The Wouxun KG-935G is an awesome radio, fully capable, extremely well designed. So many people waiting on line, that tells you how in demand it is! HIGHLY recommended! NotARubicon recommended it, so glad I took his advice!

Battery life is insane, had it monitoring for a few hours every day dual band with one constantly scanning for a full week and never charged it once. Easy enough to set up and a good clear owners manual. Shipping was super fast once they had it in stock. Not A Rubicon Productions review was spot on and entertaining!

This is a fantastic little handset, we use GMRS when camping and traveling in convoy to our destination. I primarily got this for my wife, she refuses to put an antenna on her car and really dislikes driving my car whilst I'm in the truck.

This is an ideal handset for her, even though it's only 5.5W - it's ACTUALLY 5.5W, not 2-3 with other cheaper handsets, this gives us excellent range simplex.

Last weekend at camp I managed to hit a repeater with it some 25 miles away - i'm looking forward to getting to know this radio better.

OK, I admit, I’m a two way radio nut. I probably don’t even know how many I have, especially the inexpensive GMRS radios. They all work, but this HT is far and above all the others. It is the professional grade radio everyone should have because of the clarity of signal and ease of use. It’s just a great radio in all respects. I talked to my wife who was hitting a repeater 10 miles away and she sounded like 10 feet away.

After two weeks I don’t know how I could live without this radio.

I use GMRS daily and I have to say the KG935G is the best one yet. Truly a pro radio anymore can use. Add it to you must have list. Oh, the KG805G and KG905G are both in my radio toolbox. All top-of-the-line.

I bought this radio as my first GMRS HT. Its been a great radio to use. the audio quality of the speaker is great. The menu is easy to use. It's also very easy to program with a FTDI cable. I programmed my local repeaters and other 440 and 144 frequencies I listen to in about 10 minutes. highly recommend if you want a high quality GMRS HT.
